Federal Standard 595 (aka, Fed Std 595) describes colors used by the United States government for procurement. This is a single 3" x 5" color chip, in one of the 650 colors available, in a protective envelope. Chip is suitable for color matching and quality control inspection purposes.

The first digit of the color number indicates the color at a level or degree of gloss.
